A 1947 John Trumpy raised-pilothouse yacht, 80 feet of mahogany and teak, restored from the planking up and repowered with new John Deere diesels.
About this yacht
Timeless was built in 1947 as Seaplay for George Codrington of Cleveland, a General Motors vice president, and designed as a luxury cruising yacht. Her hull was built in Camden, New Jersey, and she was completed and launched in Annapolis, Maryland. She has carried several names since, and her listing places the yard's output at more than 400 yachts, with about 90 still afloat.
A restoration from 2017 to 2020 took off her planking for a full frame inspection and brought keel and deck repairs, a new mast and new cap rails. Her current owner has since had asbestos removed, the wiring and panels replaced, new teak decks laid in 2022 and the bottom repainted in 2025. The John Deere diesels were rebuilt around 2022 and show about 150 hours, with a Northern Lights 38 kW generator from 2023. Below are an owner's stateroom aft, two guest cabins and two crew cabins forward. She is in Newport, Rhode Island.
Why a Trumpy like this
The Trumpy yard in Annapolis built some of the finest wooden yachts of its time, and its boats are still the benchmark for classic yacht lines. An 80-footer with this much restoration behind her is the kind of boat most buyers only see in photographs.
